Pearson’s ‘Healthy Airport’ program has more safety protocols

TORONTO — To adapt to the new realities of air travel, Toronto Pearson has launched its ‘Healthy Airport’ program that includes health and safety protocols that go beyond the measures already in place.

The five-point comprehensive program also includes a strategic partnership with BlueDot, a leader in advanced data analytics and technologies to predict and monitor infectious disease risks.

The new measures of the Healthy Airport commitment are in addition to those implemented by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) on June 1, which includes mandatory masks, limited access to airport facilities, enhanced cleaning and hygiene and signage for physical distancing.

With the new program, additional measures include everything from touchless check-in to air quality monitors.

“This is our commitment to you, our passengers and our airport workers,” read an official statement from Toronto Pearson. “Passenger confidence in Canada’s travel industry is of the utmost importance, and the Toronto Pearson workforce is dedicated to rebuilding public trust and demonstrating that the aviation sector takes health issues and their well-being seriously.”

The following measures will be implemented as part of the Health Airport program:
