Travel to Italy and beyond with G Adventures’ virtual group tours

TORONTO — G Adventures has launched its all new Virtual Travel Experiences designed to keep travellers inspired, connected and dreaming of their next destination spot.

Starting today, G Adventures is offering its first live virtual small group tour to Italy, departing at 12:00 pm EST and hosted by chief experience officer (CEO) Stefano Paris. Travellers will be led through Venice, Tuscany and get to experience a football match. Virtual travellers can sign up for today’s trip here.

The virtual small group tours are led by CEOs who take 16 ‘travellers’ on a cross country experience, during which they will experience five different locations in just under an hour. Travellers will receive food and drink pairing recommendations in advance, “meet” their fellow travelers in a live Zoom room and interact with their CEO in real time.

Future live virtual small group tours will head to Guatemala, Argentina and Vietnam. Observers also have the opportunity to follow along the tour without joining the group.

Part of the Virtual Travel Experience will be a weekly series of virtual walking tours. The tours feature cities including Florence, Buenos Aires, Antigua in Guatemala, Cape Town and Hanoi. The local CEOs will utilize Google Maps and photos to share the inside secrets, history and travel tips of the city.

In addition to the walking tour experience, virtual backgrounds have been added to the experience to liven up the Zoom video conference calls or hang outs. The first collection features each of the seven continents, so that travellers can ‘travel’ to somewhere they may have never been before.

Lauren Michell, VP Marketing and Customer Experience says, “We hope that our new Virtual Travel Experiences will continue to fuel travellers’ curiosity and desire to see the world, when the time is right.”
