Here are important travel policy updates from Icelandair

REYKJAVIK — Icelandair’s North America team has provided North American travel agencies with updates about its work schedules and reservation policies amid the ongoing global health crisis.

The team has been working a reduced schedule since April 1 at 50% of its normal coverage. Individual schedules will vary, but all team members are available during the normal work week on Monday-Friday.

RESERVATION CHANGES

Change fees are being waived for reservations on Icelandair ticket stock (108), in all classes of service, including interline reservations.

The following apply to reservations booked prior to and including March 2, 2020, with travel commencing through May 31, 2020:

  • Validity for reissue is one year from date of original issue
  • May rebook to new dates within the ticket validity
  • No restriction on new travel dates into 2021
  • Enter the waiver code WAIVEFICOVID19 in the endorsement line (FE line)
  • Any applicable fare increase must be collected
  • Change of destination (based on airport code) is notallowed
  • Change of routing on interline reservations isallowed
  • Upgrades between classes are not allowed
  • A ticket may only be changed once using the change fee waiver
  • Exception: Customers who made changes prior to March 12, 2020 are allowed one additional change
  • Policy is subject to change

The following apply to reservations booked between March 3-April 30, 2020, with travel through Dec. 31, 2020:

  • The Peace of Mind policy
  • All other guidelines as noted above

 

RESERVATION CANCELLATIONS

Passengers may voluntarily postpone their trip, regardless of reason, and use the full value of the ticket (including fare, taxes and ancillary services) for future travel.

  • Valid for ticketed reservations on Icelandair ticket stock (108) in all classes of service, including interline reservations, booked prior to and including April 30, 2020, with travel commencing through May 31, 2020
  • Applies to all customers ticketed on Icelandair, whether their originally scheduled flight is still operating or not
  • Applies only to un-flown flight segments
  • Cancel the client’s booking
  • Enter into PNR: SSR OTHSZZ WAIVEFICOVID19
  • Enter into PNR as RM or OSI: COVID19

When your clients are ready to re-book:

  • Please ensure to re-book/reissue within the original ticket validity, which is one year from original date of issue
  • Re-routing is permitted
  • No restriction on new travel dates into 2021
  • Enter into the endorsement box of the new ticket: WAIVEFICOVID19
  • The ticket may only be reissued onceusing the waiver code
  • Please note this waiver code waives all change fees, but any applicable fare difference must be collected at the time of reissue
