TORONTO — Club Med has unveiled new images of Club Med Québec Charlevoix, Canada’s first-ever Club Med resort set to open in December 2021.

As the brand’s first four-seasons mountain resort, the new property will take design inspiration from the local culture and surrounding landscapes. In the main restaurant, dining rooms will reflect the region’s natural, maritime and agricultural heritage, with an extensive buffet presented like a large local market.

In the specialities restaurants, visitors will feel like special guests in the chef’s chalet thanks to an intimate and cozy environment. A menu that changes throughout the day will include reinvented Quebec delicacies, which can be savoured while overlooking the Saint Lawrence River.

On the innovative design, Henri Giscard d’Estaing, President of Club Med, said: “From the beginning of the project, our teams and partners have been working on preparing an unmatched mountain vacation experience that showcases the character of Quebec and the Charlevoix region as much as possible. For over 60 years, Club Med has successfully operated its mountain resorts using a unique vacation model. As our first four-seasons resort, Club Med Québec Charlevoix will mark a new stage in our expertise.”

With the opening of one new mountain destination per year, Club Med is continuing its four-seasons mountain strategy. Club Med Québec Charlevoix marks the official beginning of a mountain experience that shifts as the seasons change.

Moreover, the new resort is set to tap into the trend of family travel, which according to Club Med is set to increase by 25% by 2022.

In all, Club Med Québec Charlevoix is projected to attract an average of 50,000 guests per year, of which half will be Canadian.

Club Med announced last fall that Club Med Québec Charlevoix’s grand opening would be delayed due to labour shortages in Quebec’s construction industry. Now set to open to the public in December 2021, it was originally scheduled to debut on Dec. 5, 2020.
