Two years probation and $6,440 in restitution for Alicia Kielek

MISSISSAUGA — Repeat offender Alicia Kielek has been sentenced to two years of probation, restitution totalling $6,440 and an industry ban for the duration of the probation order.

The two years of probation includes 50 hours of community service.

In September 2018 Kielek pleaded guilty to two counts of operating as a travel agent without registration. It was her second offence in two years. She previously pleaded guilty in 2016 to five counts of operating without registration. Details of that conviction and sentencing can be found here.

At the time of the September 2018 charges Kielek was on a probation order with respect to the first offences.

Kielek was previously the supervisor/manager of Intercontinental Travel Bureau, a travel agency that was TICO-registered until its registration was revoked in 2015 due to alleged contraventions of the Travel Industry Act, 2002.

Kielek continued to operate without registration, selling travel services to consumers, which they never received.
