TravelBrands hits the links in support of SickKids

MISSISSAUGA — TravelBrands reached its goal of raising one million dollars in total for SickKids Labatt Family Heart Centre.

The donation amount was announced and presented to SickKids at the TravelBrands Annual Charity Golf Classic, held yesterday at Eagles Nest Golf Club in Maple, ON. All proceeds will be contributed towards the SickKids’ Labatt Family Heart Centre to support its goal of becoming the leading pediatric heart disease centre in the world.

“We challenged ourselves to raise roughly $290,000 this year so we could hit our million dollar target. I am so proud to say we achieved our goal,” said Frank DeMarinis, President & CEO, TravelBrands. “Thanks a million to our dedicated partners, staff and suppliers for making the golf tournament a huge success and helping us give back to a meaningful cause. I am looking forward to our next chapter with the SickKids Foundation.”

The golf tournament isn’t the first initiative by TravelBrands in support of SickKids. It has also hosted an employee 5-kilometre walk, participated in the Mississauga Dragon Boat Festival, and launched a 1% Sales Donation Day.

As the company’s conclusive charitable event of the year, the Golf Classic also included a putting contest, a draw to beat TravelBrands’ executive Enzo DeMarinis, a mechanical bull, a million-dollar shootout, and a helicopter ball drop for guests to enjoy. The day concluded with a dinner and a live and silent auction featuring prizes that included airline vouchers, hockey game tickets and more.
