Globus says air-inclusive bookings are taking off

Globus opens the books on 2018 tours with EBBs, air credits

TORONTO — The Globus family of brands is kicking off the launch of its 2018 product today with early booking bonuses valid for 2018 trips booked by Sept. 12. 2017.

The discounts comprise a 10% saving on all Globus Europe, South America and North America product (excluding Globus Escapes), while Cosmos clients get a $50 saving on value-priced Africa and South America guided tours. There’s also a 5% discount on all Globus Africa product when booked between now and May 1, 2018.

Plus when the Globus family air desk books the air with LATAM on any South America tour of five nights or longer offered by Globus, Cosmos, Monograms or Avalon Waterways, clients will receive an air credit worth up to $500, or a $200 air credit when using any other carrier.

Air-inclusive bookings at Globus and sister companies Cosmos, Monograms and Avalon Waterways are up over 20% year over year.

The company says it offers competitive fares with a selection of sked carriers and guaranteed pricing once under deposit, and will also handle sked changes on a travel agent’s (and their clients’) behalf. “It just makes your life so much easier,” says Stéphanie Bishop, managing director/Canada for the Globus family.

The company offers two options for flight bookings. Flex Air uses contracts with multiple air vendors and flexibility for any air changes, subject to airline-imposed fees. Flex Air is commissionable at 5% and there’s no service charge. The Instant Purchase Air option is non-commissionable and subject to a fee between $50 and $80 per person but features more affordable fares.

Both fare types include airport transfers on Globus family product published/brochure dates.

“We can also deal with stopover requests, upgrades, deviations and even requests outside of 330 days prior to departure,” says Bishop, adding “all in all, for ease of transaction and time efficiency, our air desk is more and more the go-to option of choice for agents.”
