Sunwing Vacations adds two new Sun flights from Winnipeg

TORONTO — Sunwing Vacations is offering more vacation packages departing directly from Winnipeg with the introduction of two new weekly, direct flight services to Puerto Plata and Mazatlan.

These new flights bring the number of destinations offered by the tour operator from Winnipeg to 15. New for this coming season, clients will be able to choose between Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and Mazatlán in Pacific Mexico, along with the company’s established lineup of vacation hotspots that includes Cancun, Punta Cana and Montego Bay.

The new service to Puerto Plata departs Thursdays between Dec. 15, 2016 and March 30, 2017. The service to Mazatlan departs Fridays between Dec. 15, 2016 and March 31, 2017.

“We are pleased to offer our customers from Winnipeg even more choice this coming winter. Both these destinations appeal to vacationers looking for a fun-filled beach getaway at a price that won’t blow the travel budget and we are certain that they will prove popular amongst Winnipeg residents,” said Andrew Dawson, President of tour Operations for Sunwing Vacations.

The news was also welcomed by Pascal Bélanger, Vice-President & Chief Commercial Officer of the Winnipeg Airports Authority who said, “These new destinations will add to the variety of great vacation options offered to our community. Warm-weather destinations have never been more popular, and travellers will now have access to even more choices as they make their vacation plans to Mexico or the Dominican Republic.”
