MONTREAL — Air Canada saw system-wide traffic grow 10.1% in June.

The carrier increased capacity by 10.5% and saw load factors slip slightly to 85.4% versus 85.7% in June 2014.

Air Canada reports traffic results on a system-wide basis, including regional airlines from which Air Canada purchases capacity and Air Canada rouge.

According to Calin Rovinescu, President and Chief Executive Officer, “these strong results underscore the effectiveness of our commercial strategy focusing on international growth and the strategic deployment of Air Canada rouge to compete more effectively in leisure markets. Air Canada generated greater traffic in all markets led by significant growth in the U.S. transborder, Atlantic and Pacific markets.

“During the month of June we launched new nonstop services to Amsterdam and Mexico City, as well as Toronto-Abbotsford BC.”
