MONTREAL — Air Transat has added another international destination to its Montreal network, launching its first nonstop service between Montreal and Istanbul, Türkiye.
The inaugural flight, TS314, departed Montreal on Oct. 29, coinciding with Türkiye’s National Day. The new route will operate year-round, up to twice weekly, complementing Air Transat’s existing Toronto-Istanbul service, which launched in December 2025.
The new service also expands connecting opportunities for Canadian travellers through Air Transat’s interline and codeshare partnerships with Turkish Airlines. Passengers departing from both Montreal and Toronto can connect in Istanbul to destinations across Türkiye and Asia.
“Expanding our offering from Montreal also means introducing destinations that open up new horizons,” said Sebastian Ponce, Chief Revenue Officer at Transat. “Istanbul invites travellers to discover a city where cultures, history and modernity converge. By combining the appeal of this destination with the extensive connectivity offered through our partner Turkish Airlines, we are opening up even more travel possibilities from Montreal.”
The new route also strengthens international connectivity at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL).
“The addition of Istanbul to Air Transat’s network is excellent news for YUL and its passengers, who will now benefit from enhanced service and greater choice for their travels,” said Karl Brochu, Vice President Airport Operations and Air Services Development. “This route strengthens Montreal’s international connectivity and opens up new flight options to Türkiye and beyond. We applaud the commitment of this long-standing partner, which continues to bring our city closer to the rest of the world.”
With the addition of Montreal-Istanbul, Air Transat now offers service to Istanbul from both of its major Canadian gateways, providing travellers with more options for reaching Türkiye and connecting onward through Turkish Airlines’ network.
