IRVING, TX — Nexion Travel Group says it wants to help new and established travel advisors work toward six-figure earnings with a free e-booklet focused on building a profitable travel business.

The guide, ‘Make Six Figures as a Travel Agent’, is available to advisors across the industry, regardless of affiliation, and outlines strategies for reaching $100,000 in annual earnings.

“More people are discovering travel advising as a career, but loving travel and knowing how to plan an incredible trip are only part of the equation,” said Jackie Friedman, CTC, VTA, President, Nexion Travel Group. “To make a real living at this, you have to think like a business owner. We created this guide to help advisors understand what it actually takes to build a business that can support both their financial goals and the life they want.”

Friedman said Nexion’s guide looks at finding a specialization, defining the value of an advisor’s expertise and charging professional fees that reflect that value.

It also covers increasing average booking values, balancing referrals with new business and knowing when to turn down work that doesn’t support an advisor’s goals.

The guide notes that lower-value bookings mean more transactions to reach the same income target, along with more emails, revisions and administrative work. Higher average booking values, professional fees and travel insurance can help generate additional revenue without simply adding more bookings.

“Being busy and being profitable are not the same thing,” Friedman said. “Building a six-figure travel business isn’t about chasing every lead or working around the clock.
