MONTREAL — Air Canada has removed its Montreal-Algiers route from its Summer 2027 schedule.

According to Aeroroutes, service had been scheduled to resume June 2, 2027, with four weekly flights operated by Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

The latest schedule change follows an earlier removal of the route for Summer 2026, when Air Canada was also trimming capacity across parts of its domestic, transborder and international network.

As Travelweek previously reported, Air Canada CEO Michael Rousseau said at the time that the airline was navigating an industry-wide shock from rising jet fuel prices linked to geopolitical instability in the Middle East.

“The pace of that increase is testing demand resilience across commercial aviation and reinforcing the need for discipline. This is not unique to Air Canada; it is an industry-wide challenge that affects how airlines think about capacity, pricing and risk,” Rousseau said during the airline’s Q1 2026 earnings call.

At the time, Air Canada had also reduced or suspended service on several other routes, including Vancouver-Halifax, Vancouver-Quebec City, Vancouver-Miami, Toronto-St. Maarten and Toronto-Salt Lake City, among others.

Air Canada has not provided a reason for the latest removal of Montreal-Algiers from its Summer 2027 schedule.
