ORLANDO — Orlando welcomed a record 76.7 million visitors in 2025, reinforcing its position as the most visited destination in the United States.
The latest figures, released by Visit Orlando during its annual National Travel & Tourism Week event at the Orange County Convention Center, represent a 1.8% increase over 2024 and mark the highest visitation total in the destination’s history.
Domestic visitation reached a record 70.3 million travellers, up 2.2% year over year. Visits from Floridians increased by 3.4%, although the majority of domestic visitors continued to come from outside the state.
Overnight travel also remained strong, accounting for 70% of domestic visitation, or 49.2 million travellers, reflecting a 1.8% increase compared with the previous year.
International visitation totalled 6.3 million visitors in 2025, a decline of 2.4%, or approximately 156,000 travellers. Visit Orlando attributed much of the decrease to softer demand from Canada.
Despite the decline, Canada remained Orlando’s top international source market, generating 1.1 million visitors in 2025, down 13.3% from 2024. The United Kingdom, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina rounded out Orlando’s leading international markets.
“Canada remains Orlando’s top international market, welcoming more than 1.1 million visitors in 2025,” said Casandra Matej, president and CEO of Visit Orlando. “Canada continues to be an incredibly important market for our destination, and we remain committed to sustained marketing, trade opportunities and public relations efforts to support long-term recovery and renewed growth.”
Several international markets posted record highs in 2025, including the United States, Mexico, Colombia and Japan, helping to offset weaker performance from Canada. Earlier this year, Orlando International Airport also introduced its first nonstop passenger charter flights to Tokyo, becoming Florida’s first direct air service connection to the Asia-Pacific region.
Visit Orlando’s top five international origin markets for 2025 were:
- Canada: 1,119,300 visitors (down 13.3%)
- United Kingdom: 933,500 visitors (up 2.8%)
- Brazil: 736,300 visitors (up 5.6%)
- Mexico: 458,500 visitors (up 4.6%)
- Colombia: 360,000 visitors (up 5.0%)
Leisure travel continued to dominate Orlando’s visitor mix in 2025, accounting for 81% of domestic visitation. Domestic business travellers represented 10%, while international visitors accounted for eight per cent overall. The meetings and conventions segment also posted gains, with group visitation increasing 3.1% year over year to reach 5.8 million visitors.
