Explora Journeys shifts EXPLORA II to Mediterranean for winter 2026-27

GENEVA — Explora Journeys has confirmed changes to its winter 2026-27 deployment, with EXPLORA II now set to operate exclusively in the Mediterranean from November 2026 through March 2027. The ship’s previously planned Middle East deployment will no longer take place.

According to the company, the decision was made well in advance, noting it aims to provide both guests and travel advisors with clarity and confidence as they plan future travel. All affected guests and advisor partners will be contacted directly, with support and alternative options provided where applicable.

Under the revised deployment, EXPLORA II will sail a series of itineraries across the Western Mediterranean. The updated program is designed to highlight the Mediterranean’s cultural depth, gastronomy and seasonal charm in a more relaxed setting, away from peak-season crowds.

New itineraries will also incorporate destinations across North Africa, expanding the overall scope of the winter season. Ports of call are expected to include Funchal, Casablanca and Ibiza’s Old Town, alongside a mix of established destinations and lesser-known ports. Seasonal experiences, including festive sailings, will also form part of the offering.

On board, EXPLORA II will continue to emphasize the brand’s Ocean State of Mind concept, with a focus on spacious oceanfront suites, wellness programming and a relaxed onboard pace. Features include multiple dining venues, bars and lounges, as well as Ocean Wellness – The Spa and a range of indoor and outdoor pool areas designed to support a slower, more immersive travel experience.
