TORONTO — Hyatt Hotels Corporation is expanding its all-inclusive footprint in the Dominican Republic with plans for a new Hyatt Ziva resort in Punta Cana.
The company announced that a Hyatt affiliate has signed a management agreement with Codelpa, the owner of Secrets Tides Punta Cana, to develop Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana. The new-build, family-friendly all-inclusive resort is expected to open in 2029.
The property will feature 650 guestrooms, including an adults-only building alongside family-oriented accommodations and amenities. Located about 40 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, the resort is expected to become one of the flagship properties within the Hyatt Ziva brand.
“We are delighted by the trust placed in us by a valued owner like Codelpa, and by the opportunity to further strengthen our already solid portfolio in the Dominican Republic,” said Javier Águila, president, Inclusive Collection, Hyatt. “Hyatt currently has 34 hotels – 32 of them all-inclusive resorts – and nearly 17,000 rooms in the country. This is a clear reflection not only of our scale, but also of our long-standing commitment to a destination that is central to our past, present and future strategy in the Caribbean.”
RESORT AMENITIES
Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana will offer a wide range of amenities designed for travellers of all ages. Dining options are expected to include five specialty restaurants and a buffet serving international cuisine, along with a snack bar, coffee parlor, ice cream venue and a beach club offering food and drinks. Six bars will serve domestic and international spirits, while the spa will feature a juice bar.
Wellness facilities will include a fitness centre, yoga studio and outdoor gym. The spa will feature sauna and steam rooms, a hamman, hydrotherapy circuit and relaxation lounge, along with a variety of treatments, a beauty salon and a bridal suite for weddings.
For families with kids, there’ll be a water park and five swimming pools, including an adults-only pool and a dedicated children’s pool. Additional activities are expected to include pickleball and tennis courts, mini golf, climbing walls, playgrounds, a ropes course, fire pits and a bowling alley. Younger guests will have access to a Kid’s Club and Teen’s Club offering supervised activities throughout the day.
The opening of Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana will come on the heels of Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana and Secrets Macao Beach Punta Cana, both opening in 2026.
