Cancellations update for G Adventures, Intrepid, Globus family of brands

TORONTO — G Adventures is cancelling its Jordan itineraries that were set to depart in the next couple of weeks.

“Following increased tensions in the Middle East, involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran, G Adventures can confirm all travellers and staff are safe. While we do not operate trips in several of the most affected areas including Iran, Israel, the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain, we have been monitoring the situation in Jordan closely,” G Adventures said in a statement.

“Although our local teams report a calm environment and operations have been running smoothly, the combination of persistent flight disruptions and elevated travel advisories has significantly impacted traveller insurance coverage.

“As a result, we have made the decision to suspend all trip departures in Jordan scheduled to depart between 3 March and 15 March, 2026.”

G Adventures said any trips already operating on the ground in Jordan will continue to run as scheduled. The company is working with travellers to support them should they wish to cancel and depart Jordan early.

G Adventures is also advising all travellers currently on the ground to register their presence with their respective embassies to receive official security updates as well as contacting their airline to verify the status of their onward flights.

“The safety of our travellers is always our top priority and our local team is monitoring the situation closely should any adjustments to itineraries on the ground be necessary.”

GLOBUS FAMILY OF BRANDS UPDATE

Meanwhile the Globus family of brands has cancelled its March departures to parts of the Middle East as the military crisis in the region continues to evolve.

In a statement posted to its travel advisor portal and sent to Travelweek, the company said it is closely monitoring the situation and has made the decision to suspend select programs out of caution.

“Out of an abundance of caution and in alignment with guidance from global authorities and security partners, we have made the proactive decision to cancel March departures to Dubai, Qatar, Egypt and Jordan,” said Steve Born, chief marketing officer for the Globus family of brands.

“The safety and well-being of our guests and team members is always our highest priority. Travellers and their travel advisors on affected departures are being contacted directly and personally. Guests will be offered flexible options, including the opportunity to rebook to a future departure or receive a full refund.”

The statement added that wider travel disruptions may extend beyond the immediate region.

“We also recognize that broader travel delays and air disruptions may impact guests traveling to or from other regions, including Australia and New Zealand. Our on-the-ground teams and operations staff are actively supporting affected travellers and working to minimize inconvenience wherever possible.

“For nearly a century, the Globus family of brands has guided travellers through an ever-changing world with care, expertise and responsibility. We remain committed to transparent communication and will continue to monitor the situation closely.”

The company is encouraging travellers to contact their travel advisor or its Guest Services team for assistance.

INTREPID CANCELLATIONS

Intrepid Travel says it has cancelled departures in Egypt, Jordan, Oman and Saudi Arabia up to and inclusive of March 31, 2026.

“This decision is in line with major government travel advisories, which have raised their warnings based on military activity in the region,” said Intrepid in a statement.

“Customers and travel agent partners who had bookings on a tour due to depart in these countries during March have been advised of the change today – as well as their options regarding credit for a future trip or a refund.

“The decision to cancel itineraries has not been made lightly, but our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of our customers, tour leaders and teams,” said Intrepid.

Intrepid has a large operational footprint across the Middle East, including its own offices and teams in Jordan and Egypt.

“All customer and team members are safe and accounted for,” said the company. “Intrepid has approx. 200 customers on the ground in affected countries, the majority of whom are in Egypt, where airspace remains open and major travel advisories have not changed (except for the United States).”

Intrepid said customers in Egypt have the option to continue on their tour, or leave early if they choose to, in which case Intrepid will assist them with their onward travel.

Meanwhile tours in Jordan will be paused today, March 3, and customers will be assisted to leave the country. Intrepid does not have any tour groups on the ground in Oman or Saudi Arabia currently.

“I am deeply saddened to see the recent escalation of violence between Iran and the United States once again send the Middle East into a state of fragility and uncertainty,” said Zina Bencheikh, Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). “Our first priority is always the safety of our customers and teams and we’re working hard to navigate the disruptions as best we can.”

Bencheikh added: “Jordan and Egypt have already been through a difficult time, and both were having an amazing start to the year with bookings up over 75%. This makes the current moment especially worrying for our teams and partners whose livelihoods depend on tourism. Our thoughts are with them, and we hope that peace will soon prevail and that we can quickly restore confidence in travel to the Middle East. We will resume tours in the Middle East as soon as possible, and in the meantime we continue to run trips in all our other global destinations.”
