Mike Cubitt retires after 49-year career

Travel veteran Mike Cubitt is retiring after a 49-year career. He came to Canada from the UK in 1966 and worked for Lucas and King, then Calladine and Baldry before joining International Voyages and Canadian Travel Advisors (called Intervoyage/CTAL before being rebranded Holiday House). He then moved to Suntours as Reservations Manager handling Laker Airlines and Europe. From there he moved on to Regent Holidays in sales, before going on to P. Lawson Travel as manager of the new branch at the Honeywell Centre in North York. After P. Lawson became Carlson Wagonlit, he continued in retail as sales manager with Farewell Travel, finally ending up as an Outside Sales Agent with Vision Travel. He was also a founding father of CITC.
