VANCOUVER — Emerald Cruises & Tours recently marked a major build milestone: a successful sea trial for Emerald Kaia.
The ship’s first official operations took place in Halong Bay, Vietnam. The open-water testing confirmed the yacht’s performance, manoeuvrability and seaworthiness, advancing the vessel toward final commissioning and April 2026 entry into service.
Set to debut on an 11-day Cyprus to the Acropolis itinerary departing Limassol on April 4, Emerald Kaia will host up to 128 guests and feature Missoni-designed décor, new interconnecting suites, an all-new Observation Sun Deck with an added Spa Pool, and upgraded wellness and dining concepts.
Public spaces and amenities include an all-new Observation Sun Deck featuring an additional Spa Pool, sun loungers and shaded areas, and an indoor/outdoor gym.
Emerald Kaia will also have a new design for its signature restaurant La Cucina, plus the new Night Market Grill – a private dining experience for eight guests.
“This milestone is a testament to the dedication of everyone involved in the project. Operationally, this sea trial has delivered excellent results and allows us to proceed with the final phase of commissioning with confidence. We look forward to welcoming guests on board Emerald Kaia in April 2026,” said James Griffiths, Scenic Group GM, Ocean Operations.
With sea trials now complete, the next milestones for Emerald Kaia include final fittings, delivery and the April 2026 inaugural sailing.
Emerald Kaia will join Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara in the Emerald Yacht Cruises fleet, ahead of future sister yachts Emerald Raiya (2027) and Emerald Xara (2028).
