TORONTO — Porter Airlines is celebrating a major milestone today with the launch of its inaugural Toronto–Puerto Vallarta flight.
The new service, which took off Nov. 14 from Toronto Pearson International Airport, marks Porter’s entry into the popular Pacific coast city and continues the airline’s push into Mexico. Earlier this summer, the airline announced its first flights to several sun destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean and Costa Rica this winter season.
As part of this expansion, the Toronto–Puerto Vallarta route begins with three weekly roundtrip flights and will increase to five weekly on Dec. 14. Porter will also introduce nonstop flights to Puerto Vallarta from Hamilton and Ottawa in December, broadening options for travellers heading to Mexico for the winter.
“Launching our inaugural flight to Puerto Vallarta further expands Porter’s presence in Mexico and fulfills a longstanding demand from Canadian travellers. Flights are operated with the Embraer E195-E2, configured in the airline’s signature two-by-two layout with no middle seats. Travellers receive Porter’s standard elevated economy perks, including free high-speed WiFi, complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, and premium Canadian snacks.
Those booking PorterReserve receive all-inclusive enhancements such as priority check-in, extra legroom, premium pre-mixed cocktails, and fresh meals. For PorterClassic passengers, the airline allows individual perks to be added à la carte.
Porter’s network is complemented by its joint venture with Air Transat, giving travellers more choice in terms of destinations, flexibility, and travel dates. VIPorter members can redeem points for travel on both airlines, with redemptions starting at 10,000 points one way for sun destinations.
