TORONTO — Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport is dealing with a power outage.
On X the airport posted this message at 12:58 p.m. today: “There is currently a power outage in the tunnel related to an issue with a Toronto Hydro feed. The tunnel is open but operating with reduced capacity. There are no power issues within the terminal and flights are operating normally.”
The airport goes on to say that ferry service is temporarily suspended as the Marilyn Bell electric ferry cannot be charged and is currently being changed out with the back-up, fuel-based ferry.
Just moments before YTZ posted its X message, CityNews reported on the power outage, saying the airport was at a “standstill.” CityNews also reported long lineups throughout the airport, and said the estimated power restoration time is 3:21 p.m.
