CALGARY — WestJet is expanding its reach in Mexico with the addition of Puerto Escondido to its route map for the first time.
Seasonal nonstop service between Calgary and Puerto Escondido kicks off Dec. 12, 2025, operating once weekly throughout the winter travel season.
Flights will depart Calgary at 8:55 a.m. and arrive in Puerto Escondido at 3:44 p.m., with return service leaving at 4:45 p.m. and arriving back in Calgary at 9:46 p.m. After the start of Daylight Savings time, departure and arrival times in Calgary will shift one hour earlier.
“Delivering this hidden gem to WestJet’s network is another way we’re fulfilling our promise to give Canadians more unforgettable and affordable getaways,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer. “For those looking to trade snow for sunshine, Puerto Escondido offers the perfect escape; a vibrant blend of beautiful beaches, authentic Mexican flavours, world-class surfing and the warm, festive spirit that makes Mexico so special.”
The addition of Puerto Escondido marks WestJet’s 15th nonstop route between Calgary and Mexico this winter. It follows the recent introduction of Guadalajara, Tepic (Riviera Nayarit) and Cozumel, along with the extension of Calgary–Mexico City service to year-round.
The airline says it will deliver its largest-ever schedule to Mexico this winter, boosting sun destination seat capacity by 8 per cent compared to last year. Guests can choose from more travel options than ever before, whether flying through WestJet or booking a vacation package with Sunwing Vacations or WestJet Vacations.
