4x4 expedition in Tunisia with Pathways of the World – Sentiers du monde

Pathways of the World’s Tunisia trip “unforgettable”, say agents

MONTREAL — Pathways of the World – Sentiers du monde (POTW – SDM), in collaboration with the Tunisian National Tourist Office (ONTT), recently treated top-performing travel advisors and employees from tripvoyage.ca and tripcentral.ca to an unforgettable immersive experience in Tunisia.

Pierre Couture, President of POTW – SDM, said the goal was to acknowledge the outstanding performances from the teams, and at the same time offer a first-hand experience in a destination still largely unknown to many Canadians outside of Quebec.

“Tunisia is a fabulous destination, but still widely under the radar for most Canadians outside Quebec. It was the perfect time to introduce it to influential travel professionals,” said Couture. “Our goal wasn’t just to reward, but to inspire. These agents are the bridge between our tours and the travellers. By allowing them to live the experience firsthand, we’re giving them the tools to tell better stories, sell more effectively, and dream bigger.”

Thanks to the partnership with the ONTT, the agents enjoyed an authentic, culturally rich and surprise-filled experience, he added.

Pathways of the World (and its French-language counterpart, Sentiers du Monde) specializes in cultural and immersive tours for small groups or private travel. The companies have been crafting rich and authentic travel experiences around the globe for over 13 years.

“SIMPLY UNFORGETTABLE”

Over nine days, the top performers explored the best of Tunisia, from the bustling medina of Sousse and the colosseum of El Jem to the troglodyte homes of Matmata, the ksour of Tataouine, and the desert dunes of Ksar Ghilane.

The trip also featured a night under the stars in a Saharan camp, a 4×4

expedition to the mountain oases of Chebika, a visit to the Star Wars set at Ong Jmel, and walks through the medina of Tunis and the village of Sidi Bou Saïd. Each stop blended heritage, meaningful encounters and smooth logistics: “a true showcase of POTW – SDM’s expertise.”

Participants raved about the trip …

“From the moment we arrived, the trip organized by POTW – SDM was simply unforgettable. Every detail was thoughtfully planned – immersive and exhilarating. Walking through the actual colosseum where Gladiator was filmed, sleeping under the stars in the Sahara, riding camels, crossing dunes by 4×4… it was incredible! Not to mention the Star Wars set, Roman baths, Carthage, and the lively medinas. Each stop was a deep dive into Tunisia’s history and culture. Our guides were phenomenal: present, passionate, and always attentive. This journey will stay with me forever, and I’m already excited for my next adventure with Pathways of the World!”

“My trip to Tunisia with POTW – SDM was an unforgettable experience, rich in cultural discoveries and stunning landscapes. In just over a week, I explored fascinating historical sites like the El Jem colosseum, enjoyed delicious cuisine, and relaxed in diverse settings, from the sea to the desert. I especially loved sleeping in a desert tent and riding a camel.”

— Martine Vallée, tripvoyage.ca

“Tunisia was never on my travel list, but I’m so grateful I had the chance to be part of this trip and discover the country. Every day brought a new surprise – varied landscapes from the Sahara Desert to mountains, fertile plains, and bustling marketplaces. Welcoming people, a rich and diverse culture and history waiting to be understood. The trip also offered excellent value compared to many European destinations. I felt completely safe and highly recommend visiting Tunisia on an organized tour. Highlights for me included riding an Arabian camel, visiting Berber villages, and so much more. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour and encourage you to join POTW – SDM on their next adventure.”

“REIGNITE THEIR PASSION FOR THE PROFESSION”

Couture shared that Pathways of the World has plans for similar projects in the future. “Offering travel agents the opportunity to live our tours firsthand gives them powerful tools not only to sell more effectively, but to reignite their

passion for the profession,” he said.

“This trip is a shining example of what a smart collaboration between a passionate tour operator, committed agencies, and a national tourism board can achieve.”
