Introducing TROBBU Tulum, a luxury all-villa complex

In case you haven’t heard, Tulum, Mexico has a shining new property on its shores: TROBBU Tulum, which opened its doors this past February. Even better? It’s the first all-inclusive luxury villa complex in all of Tulum. In this week’s Take 5, we sit down with Elias Barbosa, Owner, CEO and Managing Director of TROBBU, who tells us what sets this luxury retreat apart from other hotels in Mexico.

  1. For travel advisors who are not familiar with the hotel, can you give us a brief description?

TROBBU Tulum is the first set of luxury all-Inclusive villas in Tulum and we welcomed our first guest in February 2025. Visitors can fly into the new Tulum Airport (TQO) which is about 40 minutes from the property or the Cancun Airport (CUN), about 1.5 hours from the hotel.

“We offer 10 villas located in an idyllic setting amidst the serene jungle. Each of our 2,745-square-foot villas is spread throughout three levels, can accommodate up to eight guests, and features three bedrooms and three and a half baths, an infinity pool, decked terrace with sun loungers, bar & grill area, a living room area and a fully-equipped kitchen. Guests can also enjoy a pizza restaurant, fully-equipped fitness center, yoga room, spa treatments, boutique and a coffee shop.”

  1. Who should travel advisors be selling the hotel to?

“TROBBU Tulum is ideal for families, groups of friends and couples. The boutique is designed to give guests privacy with their own bedroom and bathroom, and allows them to come together on the first floor in the living room, kitchen and pool areas.

“Guests have access to a butler who can assist in scheduling activities such as visiting a cenote, attending a Mayan ceremony, participating in a private cooking or mixology class, among others. We also offer various family-friendly experiences such as a pizza making class, wellness activities and more.”

  1. How would you say TROBBU differs from other luxury accommodations in Mexico?

“The biggest differentiator between TROBBU and other hotels in Mexico, especially Tulum, is that we offer an all-inclusive option where all meals can be served in the villa and guests don’t have to share restaurants with hundreds of other visitors. We do have a common area if guests are interested in mingling, but we provide the option to have the utmost privacy during the entire duration of the stay along with personalized service with one of our butlers.”

  1. Does TROBBU Tulum host weddings?

“The property is ideal for wedding buyouts given that it can accommodate up to 80 people in the 10 villas. We will work closely with couples on the logistics of choosing a wedding venue in the destination, and we can arrange off-site activities such as cenotes, boat charters and more during the wedding weekend.”

  1. What’s next for TROBBU?

“TROBBU will be offering vacation villas in some of the world’s best beach destinations and suites in major cities. Within the next two years, the collection will be opening locations in San Miguel de Allende, Mérida Yucatán, Mahahual Riviera Maya, and Los Cabos in Mexico as well as Madrid, Spain. There are additional plans for a massive expansion in the next five years throughout Europe and other destinations which we are very excited about.”
