Air Transat launches its winter Sun season in Hamilton with flight to DR

MONTREAL — Air Transat operated its first flight of the season between Hamilton and Puerto Plata on Friday and the Hamilton airport got all decked out for the occasion.

Passengers were given a glimpse of the South, thanks to the check-in counter’s typical Caribbean decor and atmosphere.

Travellers to Puerto Plata will discover a destination popular for its golden beaches and comfortable hotels. Located on the Dominican Republic’s north coast, close to El Choco National Park, Puerto Plata offers a wide range of activities like golf, scuba diving and surfing, along with authentic experiences at cocoa and coffee plantations and cigar factories.

The destination is available from Hamilton every Friday until April 17, 2015, as well as from Toronto, Ottawa, Halifax, Montreal, Quebec City and St. John’s.
