Turtle Bay Resort, Kauai Marriott among Hawaiian resorts to complete renovations in 2014

With the end of 2014 just around the corner, a number of properties located throughout the islands of Hawaii have wrapped up on major renovation projects, while others are working on new enhancements for 2015.

Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu’s North Shore has completed a resort-wide renovation that included upgrades to all 410 main building guest rooms and hallways, installation of 1,500 solar panels on its roof and the opening of its 11,000-square foot Nalu Kinetic Spa as well as two restaurants – North Shore Kula Grill and Paakai and Surfer, The Bar.

Hotel Wailea, a former Japanese private members club sitting on 15 acres of Maui countryside, finished a multi-million dollar renovation. The hotel’s 72 one-bedroom suites now feature a beach house design with a new pool and private residential-style cabanas as well as an orchard-to-glass apothecary bar.

Kauai Marriott Resort on Kalapaki Beach has wrapped a US$50 million enhancement with final updates to its Kauai and Puna Ballrooms.

The largest on the island, the Kauai Ballroom can accommodate up to 1,200 guests for receptions and 1,000 for banquets, whereas the Puna Ballroom provides 3,150 square feet of flexible meeting space.

With an expected completion date of March 2015, Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa has begun a $100 million guest-room renovation project to its 1,230 guest rooms. The renovations are to be completed in three phases, three floors at a time.
