Lindblad Expeditions unveils new voyages to replace those impacted by Ukraine war

NEW YORK — Lindblad Expeditions has altered course in response to the war in Ukraine, announcing five new voyages to replace impacted itineraries.

Designed to go farther and deeper into remote locales, the new itineraries include the following:

  • Epic Coastal Alaska aboard National Geographic Orion: Considered Lindblad’s most “epic” coastal Alaska expedition ever, this 15-day itinerary departs June 12 and June 26, 2022 onboard the National Geographic Orion and includes such highlights as the Inside Passage, Yakutat and Disenchantment Bays, Hubbard Glacier, Prince William Sound and more.

  • Extraordinary Alaska: Misty Fjords to the Hubbard Glacier: This 11-day adventure departs July 11, 21, 31, Aug. 10 and 20, 2022 and marks the National Geographic Orion’s first-ever exploration of Alaska’s Inside Passage. Passengers will spot unforgettable fjords, temperate rainforests, massive glaciers and seabirds and whales while kayaking or paddleboarding. They’ll also sail across Yakutat Bay to Hubbard Glacier.
  • Iceland’s Wild West Coast to East Greenland: Sailing aboard the new National Geographic Endurance, this 13-day itinerary departs July 2, 2022 and explores Icelan’ds Westfjord region. Guests will hike through valleys, witness waterfalls and venture into the largest fjord system in the world.
  • A Journey from Nome to Tokyo: Ring of Fire to Ainu Culture: Guests will follow the ‘ring of fire’ from Alaska’s volcanic Aleutian islands to the island of Hokkaido, Japan on a voyage aboard the new National Geographic Resolution. Highlights include seldom visited islands of the Bering Sea, hiking in northern Japan’s national parks and historic sites along the coast of Honshu. This 20-day itinerary departs Aug. 7, 2022.
  • Coastal Japan: Imperial Dynasties and Modern Culture: Departing Aug. 29, 2022, this 16-day itinerary sails aboard the National Geographic Resolution. Guests will trace the shores of Honshu and the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, venture into the homes of samurai and feudal lords, and take a detour to South Korea to spend a day in Gyeongju.
