Porter Airlines’ flights to Halifax, Quebec City are back on

Porter’s new restart date is July 20

MIAMI — Porter is pushing back its tentative resumption date by another month, to July 20.

The airline, which had previously targeted June 21 as its restart date, has been on pause since March 21, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Though this latest setback means having to wait another month for flights to resume, Michael Deluce, Porter’s president and CEO, says he’s encouraged by the ongoing recovery of the aviation industry in the United States, a hopeful sign of what’s to come here in Canada.

“As vaccination rates in Canada increase, we are hopeful travel restrictions and public health measures will ease so we can recall our team members, welcome back our passengers and begin to rebuild the airline,” he said.
