TORONTO — Trafalgar’s 2019/2020 Travel with Faith program covers eight handcrafted trips to 19 countries and features some of the world’s most spiritual and uplifting destinations, not least of which is Oberammergau 2020.

Pilgrimage to Poland


Throughout Trafalgar’s eight-day Pilgrimage to Poland spiritual journey, clients arrive in Warsaw and join a ‘Local Specialist’ for an in-depth guide of Old Town visiting highlights such as Market Square, the Barbican, Warsaw Ghetto, St. James Church and the Shrine of the Divine Mercy. From Warsaw, clients journey to Niepokalanow and visit the largest Franciscan Monasteries, founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe before heading to the spiritual capital of Poland, Czestochowa, where they will ‘Dive Into Culture’ and witness a Mass at Jasna Gora Monastery. Visiting the birthplace of Karol Wojtyla (who later became Pope John Paul II), Wadowice, guests will discover the city by foot in-depth with a ‘Local Specialist’ and visit sights such as Basilica Minor, his family home and possessions before departing for Kraków for tours including Mariacki Church, known for its wooden altarpiece designed by Wit Stwosz, and finally Wawel Castle.

Sound of Music with Oberammergau

Arriving in Munich, guests join a walking tour past some of the city’s most renowned sites, including the Opera House, Ludwigstrasse, Hofbräuhaus and Marienplatz. Journeying to shy King Ludwig II’s Neuschwanstein Castle and continue to Bavaria and the faithful village of Oberammergau for its once-in-a-decade re-enactment of the Passion Play. Clients then head to Salzburg for highlights such as Getreidegasse, the Salzburg Cathedral, Mozart’s birthplace and many of the locations used in the film ‘The Sound of Music’ before attending a ‘Connect With Locals’ experience, and a Carinthian ‘Be My Guest’ dinner with the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood in the Monastery of Kloster Wernberg.
