Ryanair budget airline granted approval for transatlantic flights

Ryanair, the Ireland-based budget airline, was granted approval to begin developing transatlantic service between Europe and the United States.

Ryanair plans to start service between European cities and the U.S. starting from as little as $15 for a one-way, as part of an aggressive growth strategy.

Transatlantic service could take up to five years to implement, as Ryanair would need to procure long-haul aircraft, but once in place, the new service could be disruptive to traditional transatlantic carriers.
