Major reforms to air passenger rights needed, says House committee report

Power shortage at Pearson may cause flight delays

TORONTO — After a two-hour power shortage at Toronto’s Pearson airport this morning, travellers are being encouraged to double check their flight plans today.

According to the CBC, self check-in computers went down at Terminal 1 at around 4 a.m. and were not operating for at least a couple of hours, creating a backlog at check-in counters. Just before 6:30 a.m., airport officials tweeted that power had been fully restored but recommended that passengers still check their flight status with their airline.

An Air Canada representative told CBC News that passengers should expect delays at Canada’s largest airport today.
