‘NexionTown’ social network platform rolls out to Canadian agents

Nexion’s redesigned NexionTown, part of a company-wide technology initiative announced last fall, is the first major completed portion of the project now available to Nexion Canada members.

The revamped social network makes it easier than ever for Nexion Canada agents to stay connected and collaborate with other Nexion and Nexion Canada agents, select suppliers and Nexion staff, says the company.

“Our entire technology upgrade is being developed with one thing in mind: our travel agents,” said Jackie Friedman CTC, CTIE. “Whether an agent is a great marketer, blogger or enjoys writing fam reports, the more Nexion and Nexion Canada agents engage with NexionTown, the more powerful it will become.

NexionTown provides an easy way for agents to ask questions, seek advice and share their knowledge and best practices with one another, she adds.

NexionTown has been designed to be similar to other social media platforms but with its own distinct Nexion flair. As with most social media platforms, users set up a personal profile, follow other users, join groups and have the ability to post information to their profile that appears on their followers’ personalized feeds. Upon logging in, NexionTown users, also known as ‘Townies’, immediately see featured blog posts written by other agents or Nexion staff, as well as featured events and important information about the world of travel.

“The revamped NexionTown and the entire technology upgrade further demonstrates the value Nexion Canada agents receive,” said Nexion Canada President Mike Foster. “By being a part of Travel Leaders Group and Nexion, our agents benefit from the immense resources at their disposal, top-of-the line tools and opportunities to grow their business, all while getting more personal attention and Canadian-centered support.”

Townies can join or start a group based around a specific topic, association or geographic location, post a question to the community or commit to attending future events. The platform also breaks down geographic boundaries, allowing agents to connect from wherever they’re based throughout the U.S. and Canada.

“This investment in technology is vital to our members, and the relaunch of NexionTown shows we are out of the starting blocks,” said Foster. “The strategic plan will provide more exceptional tools, a state-of-the-art platform and a level of support that will help their businesses continue to grow. The next two years are going to be very exciting, and our agents are going to be blown away.”
