Nexion Canada agents get tailor-made content with new Carnival online training program

LONDON, ON — Host travel agency Nexion Canada has partnered with Carnival Cruise Lines to offer an exclusive training program to its member agents.

Customized content can make all the difference when it comes to product training programs, and while Nexion has participated in exclusive training opportunities with other suppliers, “Carnival Cruise Lines is the first supplier we have worked with to develop an exclusive online training program for Nexion Canada agents,” said Nexion Canada President, Mike Foster.

“Online training is a very effective way to reach as many home-based agents as possible because they can access the training from anywhere and at any time that is most convenient for them,” added Foster, who feels online training opportunities are the way of the future. “We know there are multitudes of ways agents learn and retain knowledge. Nexion Canada’s online training opportunities compliment the many in-person trainings we provide to our agents like our Boot Camp and Agent Essentials programs. In-person training opportunities allow for agents to engage with and learn from their peers as well as the trainer.  However, the self-paced nature of online training is a huge benefit to many home-based agents.”

He added that “the beauty of Carnival Cruise Lines’ exclusive training program for Nexion Canada agents is that it is self-paced, personalized education.”

The training program will provide Nexion Canada agents with information specific to Carnival Cruise Lines in categories such as product knowledge, booking tools, sales and marketing, and groups. Nexion Canada agents who complete this unique program before Aug. 17 will be entered in a drawing for an eight-night cruise for two. The program is now open for Nexion Canada agents to participate.

The exclusive program is available online via Carnival Passport and includes 13 hours of training. Through videos, webinars, FAQ documents, tutorials and interactive games, participating Nexion Canada agents will gain knowledge specific to Carnival Cruise Lines in categories such as product knowledge, booking tools, sales and marketing, and groups. Some of the classes include:

  • Dive Into Fun: Everything Carnival Cruise Lines
  • Building Group Business
  • Sales: Listening Skills

“Suppliers know that Nexion Canada agents embrace all forms educational opportunities. We applaud Carnival for developing this exclusive program and recognizing that it’s time well spent. They appreciate that our agents work hard to match their cruise clients with the right product and itinerary as well as to develop and grow their business,” said April Hillsman, Director of the Nexion Cruise Desk.

Senior Managing Director of U.S. Sales at Carnival Cruise Lines, Mike Julius, said Carnival Cruise Lines’ philosophy on agent education is to offer every type learning style, providing the agent with the freedom to pick and choose which opportunities are most relevant to them and their business. “A natural evolution to this philosophy has been to work with our key agencies, such as Nexion, to develop these learning plans.”
