Mounties arrest man who climbed fence to get onto Edmonton airport airfield

LEDUC, Alta. — Mounties have arrested a man who climbed a fence to get onto the airfield at Edmonton International Airport.

Police say they got a report that a lone man climbed the fence at the southwest side of the airfield Thursday afternoon.

The man left the area by going under the fence on the south side of the airfield shortly afterward.

RCMP, with the help of police dogs,took the man into custody.

Police say no one was injured and there was no effect on flights and passengers at the airport, located about 30 kilometres south of Edmonton.
