The HONEYROSE Hotel, Montreal boasts a prime location right across from Place des Arts

A prime location and style for days: Why HONEYROSE Hotel Montreal is thriving

TORONTO — It’s a rare treat to stay at a new hotel right in a city’s downtown core.

When that city is Montreal, the experience is extra-special.

HONEYROSE Hotel Montreal, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel opened in May 2023 at 355 de Maisonneuve O., giving it a prime location just steps from Saint-Catherine St. and the city’s cultural hub, Quartier des Spectacles, home to Place des Arts, the Latin Quarter, outdoor festivals and events and much more.

With two years under its belt, the hotel has settled in well and is now a fixture in the neighbourhood, offering 143 rooms and suites and catering to both the leisure and corporate markets.

A recent stay at HONEYROSE Hotel showcased the property’s stylish vibe, beautiful modern-vintage decor and top-level service. GM Antoine Naoum tells Travelweek that HONEYROSE Hotel aims to be a place “where guests can escape, recharge, celebrate, have fun, stay, eat, drink and work.”

Travelweek: What have been the successes and challenges in HONEYROSE Hotel’s first two years of operation?

Naoum: “Breaking into the market as a new hotel was a challenge. Yet, despite the competition, our unique offerings and strong brand power have allowed us to not only enter but thrive in the industry.”

Travelweek: What are the hotel’s biggest strengths?

Naoum: “At HONEYROSE Hotel, Montreal every aspect of our property is meticulously crafted to provide an unforgettable multisensory experience. Our hotel’s aesthetic is inspired by the Art Deco style of the 1920s, enhanced with a modern touch. Music from the 1920s, jazz, and modern music plays throughout the hotel, creating a pleasant and immersive sound environment.

“We provide a varied dining experience with three distinct options: The COMMODORE Restaurant, an elegant French bistro; The Muze Lounge & Terrace, with delicious Mediterranean cuisine; and The COMMODORE Café.

“There’s also a focus on wellness and relaxation. We offer complimentary yoga and stretching classes with the Essentrics studio, located on the 15th floor of the hotel, to help guests relax and stay active. Our indoor pool, open until 11 p.m.., is accompanied by a sauna and jacuzzi, providing a complete relaxation space with an outdoor terrace.”

Travelweek: Beloved hotels have an energy, a vibe that guests notice as soon as they walk in. What vibe is HONEYROSE going for?

Naoum: “The HONEYROSE Hotel, Montreal’s vision is to be the essential ‘storefront’ of the Quartier des Spectacles. A place where guests can escape, recharge, celebrate, have fun, stay, eat, drink and work.”

Travelweek: Families seem just as comfortable and welcome at the HONEYROSE as couples and friend groups. Why does the hotel work well for families?

Naoum: “The HONEYROSE Hotel, Montreal boasts a prime location right across from Place des Arts, the heart of the entertainment district, drawing families with its vibrant events and attractions. Our hotel also offers a pool, sauna, and jacuzzi – perfect for families seeking both relaxation and fun.”

Travelweek: Is HONEYROSE a brand new build? What gap in the market does it fill, especially in this part of downtown Montreal?

Naoum: “The HONEYROSE Hotel was newly constructed in 2023 and is currently the only Tribute Portfolio hotel in Montreal, offering a distinctive and exclusive experience in the city.

“Ideally situated near the entertainment district, Sainte-Catherine Street, and the business district, our prime location enhances our appeal. Furthermore, our two on-site restaurants and café attract a vibrant local clientele, providing a diverse and sophisticated culinary experience that further sets our hotel apart.”
