Goway goes from strength to strength as it eyes 50th anniversary

TORONTO — While Goway’s reputation as the industry’s best-known Australia specialist is well-earned, there’s so much more to Goway than Downunder.

Heading into its 50th anniversary year, Goway now sells just about the entire world, backed by decades of product knowledge and expertise.

Two well-known faces from the Goway team, BDMs Aubrey Schmidt and Sam Cottar, together with ‘Santa’, visited Travelweek’s offices recently to drive that message home. In Santa’s pack were five stuffed animals representing all the regions Goway sells: a koala for Australia (and New Zealand), a panda for Asia, a lion for Africa, a British Bulldog for Europe and a monkey for South America.

Africa is front and centre with Goway’s Cape to Cairo trip, and the 2020 edition of the high-end Journey of a Lifetime is just one way the company will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year.

The exclusive, luxury vacation takes a maximum of 14 travellers on a 30-day journey across the whole of Africa, covering nine countries and many of the world’s greatest natural wonders. It also features top luxury accommodations and a 15-day journey aboard the Pride of Africa, Rovos Rail, considered one of the most luxurious trains in the world.

Goway’s 2020 Africa & Middle East planner recently hit the shelves.

Meanwhile the company is making headway in Europe. Launched in early 2017, Goway’s U.K. & Europe division has grown exponentially in just a few short years, featuring everything from multi-country itineraries to self-drives and river cruises. At the Switzerland Travel Mart in October 2019 Goway’s Craig Canvin, VP UK-Europe, was on hand to accept the Gold Flower Award from Switzerland Tourism for Goway’s innovative products, professionalism and outstanding cooperation in connection with the promotion and sales of tours to Switzerland.

Goway’s travel agent partners are extremely important to the company success and it offers many incentives to its retail network, including cash rewards on the Goway Universal Visa Prepaid Card.

For the month of December, Goway is offering qualifying travel agents double Goway Rewards – $30 per passenger booked for any new Australia air/land inclusive vacation. Agents can increase their reward by including four nights in South Australia in their client’s itinerary, for an additional $10 cash reward per person booked. Agents just need to book an international airfare from North America to Australia, in conjunction with at least seven nights land arrangements.
