Debbie Travis and Tommy Smythe to host Scenic’s special Danube sailing

VANCOUVER — Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours is pulling out all the stops for a special Danube sailing with television host Debbie Travis and international design expert Tommy Smythe.

The eight-day ‘Gems of the Danube’ will set sail on May 9, 2024 aboard Scenic’s luxury Space Ship, Scenic Amber, with fares starting at $6,595 per person, double. Guests who book by June 30, 2023 can save with free or reduced economy airfare and savings of up to $900 per couple, if paid in full within seven days of booking, depending on cabin category.

A best-selling author with 11 books mostly on design and decorating, Travis most recently launched ‘La Dolce Debbie,’ a six-part, 30-minute series that documents her efforts restoring a 13th-century ruin in Tuscany, Italy. Now a luxury boutique hotel, Ville Reniella is where Travis hosts retreats, classic car rallies and corporate events. She also launched a new home furnishings collection at Giant Tiger last year and her DT branded wines are available at www.LCBO.com.

Smythe, known for his contagious enthusiasm and fun-loving approach to décor and renovating, has enjoyed a 20-year career in television, print media, social media and public speaking. His blending of fine art with vintage, antique and modern furnishings have put him on the cutting edge of personal style.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Scenic to co-host this once in a lifetime river cruise on Europe’s historic Danube,” stated both Travis and Smythe. “For those who have enjoyed joining us on our Instagram ‘lives’ for inspiration and warm chatter, this trip provides a unique opportunity to join in the conversation and explore design, wellness, historic architecture and delicious food and drink. We can’t wait to share it all with you!”

Guests booking this special ‘Gems of the Danube’ departure will have multiple opportunities to interact with and learn from both Travis and Smythe, beginning with an evening welcome reception while docked in Budapest. Travis and Smythe will also host their own special evening presentations as well as invite guests to listen in as they hold a joint conversation.

In addition to these special events, the itinerary will include a host of special highlights including Hungarian Goulash making in Budapest; an e-bike guided tour to Danube Island; a meet and greet with the owners of Artstetten Castle outside Melk; and a classical evening concert in Vienna at the Palais Liechtenstein with Travis and Smythe.
