“We are starting to see the recovery of Canadian travellers”: Meet AC

There’s always something new happening in Atlantic City.

For this edition of Take 5, we connect with Heather Colache, Tourism Account Director for Meet AC, to hear all about Atlantic City’s newest projects, plus how Meet AC connects with its valued travel advisor partners.

  1. What can you tell us about Atlantic City’s inbound travel recovery post-pandemic?

“We are starting to see the recovery of Canadian travellers, with individual travellers arriving in Atlantic City and the restart of many motorcoach programs.  It has been a slower process than we had hoped but we are now headed in the right direction.”

  1. What sort of numbers are you seeing from the Canadian market?

“I do not have any specific number on arrivals at this time, however as mentioned, we see the motor coach segment rebuilding, which is a great indicator.”

  1. What sort of new attractions updates would you like to share with Canadian travel advisors?

“A new indoor/outdoor waterpark, The Island Waterpark at Showboat, is about to open. It will be the largest in the USA. We also have new dining options including Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen Caesars Atlantic City, and Nobu Atlantic City, The Hook by Spiegelworld, which is Caesars Atlantic City’s new dinner and live show opening June 30, and much more!”

  1. Are there any notable new or renovated hotels that agents and travellers should have on their radar?

“We have renovations at Caesars Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, and Ocean Casino Resort, and upcoming renos at Tropicana Atlantic City, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, and Showboat Atlantic City.”

  1. How does Visit Atlantic City work with travel advisors?

“Among our digital promotions to engage with advisors, we are currently running the ‘Create a Story with Atlantic City’ promotion until June 30. We also use webinars, quarterly newsletters, participation at travel trade shows, and most importantly, we have a sales team in Canada to educate advisors and to support their inquiries and opportunities.”
