Finding clients, keeping clients: Sphere’s Host Agency Series, Part 4: Training, Marketing Support & Clientele

Nexion CanadaNEXION CANADA

Agent Training

Nexion offers training for both experienced agents and new-to-the-industry agents.  For both groups of agents, Nexion has three distinct types of training. There’s past training, all recorded and stored on a database and accessible any time, from anywhere. There’s upcoming training, outlined on weekly and monthly calendars for all members to participate in. And then there are ‘live’ training opportunities which include the CoNexion annual conference; Boot Camp and Agent Essentials (both are Nexion ‘classroom’ programs); and third party and partner events such as Vacation.com’s conference, Cruise3sixty, NACTA events, etc.

Marketing Support

Nexion provides a website, a social media marketing program, and access to its own marketing campaigns. It also provides access to all of Vacation.com’s marketing programs, including Agent Snapshot.  Agents have the ability to opt in or out of all marketing campaigns and initiatives.

Who Owns the Clients?

Nexion Canada agents own their own clients. It is their business, and their clients.

Agent Training

TTAND recently rolled out a new program for brand new travel agents. For experienced agents, TTAND sets up all the supplier codes for preferred and approved suppliers. “That’s around 48 suppliers. We also give free GDS access and sign up other vendors like Sirev and so on,” says TTAND founder Flemming Friisdahl.

TTAND also conducts live training (not recorded) with every agent. There are five sessions of two hours each on TTAND’s own systems (including Global Matrix) as well as social media, marketing, website and so on. Agents are allowed to retake the training as many times as they like for free. Agents are also encouraged to call the company’s support line when doing their first few invoices for one-on-one help. “We also have a training video and a training environment in Global for agents to practice as much as they want without affecting any of their files.”

Marketing Support

TTAND includes marketing for all levels with its regular fees. “So no extra fees. No matter the level you are in with TTAND, you get both mailed (Canada Post) marketing, electronic marketing and also website with six booking engines at each level.”

Who Owns the Clients?

“The travel agent always owns the client list.”
