TORONTO — Ethiopian Airlines Canada has announced the cancellation of select flights between Toronto and Addis Ababa in April.

Affected customers will have the choice of using tickets at a later date (valid for up to one year) or receiving a refund.

Flights departing from Toronto on April 2, 4, 7, 11, 18 and 21 are still available, as are flights departing from Addis Ababa to Toronto on April 1, 3, 6, 10, 17 and 20.

The airline’s rebooking policy states that change fees will be waived for all customers originally scheduled to travel between March 1, 2020 and June 30, 2020. Customers will be responsible for covering any difference in the cost of airfare or applicable taxes due to the reissue/rerouting of the ticket. Customers can adjust existing bookings up until Dec. 31, 2020.

The airline’s refund policy states that refunds are permitted free of charge only if the original flight shown on the ticket is cancelled. A full refund can be made for travel dates between March 1 until June 30, 2020 by issuing a voucher of equal amount to be used within one year of issue. If the voucher is required to be refunded, the applicable rule at the time of ticket purchase shall apply. A no-show fee will apply at all times except when a flight is cancelled involuntarily the airline. This policy is applicable for both refundable and non-refundable tickets.
