Beep, beep! Transat hits the streets with Cubamania truck

TORONTO — Transat is hitting the open road this month with prizes and popsicles to remind travellers why Cuba should be top of mind.

From Aug. 8-31, Transat’s Cubamania truck will venture across the Greater Toronto Area to hand out popsicles and the chance to win one of three all-inclusive vacation packages for families of four to Cuba. The company will also be giving away gift cards worth up to $1,000.

“Transat has seven Transat destinations in Cuba, many of which are offered year-round,” said Geneviève LeBrun, Vice-President of Marketing at Transat. “The island is very popular among Canadians and an important part of our business.”

LeBrun also noted that each year Transat highlights Cuba in new, original ways, as it has done with this festive summer campaign. “We’re inviting people from the Greater Toronto Area to join us for a frozen treat. And, of course, to start dreaming of a Cuban getaway this winter.”

The Cubamania truck is just the latest initiative Transat has launched to showcase the destination. Previous activations include a vintage-style Cuban cab in which would-be taxi riders were surprised with tickets to an all-inclusive vacation.

The truck will travel from Parkdale to Queen West and then to Kensington Market, with stops in Mississauga and Etobicoke, too. It will also be stationed at the Lamport Stadium Fan Zone on Aug. 10 and 17 at around noon.
