Any time a country or region imposes any sort of visa stipulation - even if it’s a waiver - the travel industry sighs a collective groan, knowing the obstacles and headaches to come.
VANCOUVER — Hotel Belmont, an 82-room boutique hotel located in a landmark Vancouver building, is now open.
Juan Duran, Director of Franchise Development at Choice Hotels Canada, says the modern and funky environment of the hotel was designed with the millennial traveller in mind, “providing a modern, fun and vibrant hotel experience.”
Located in the city’s entertainment district, Hotel Belmont is minutes from BC Place Stadium, Granville Island, Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre, UBC, Grouse Mountain, Stanley Park and Vancouver International Airport.
Designed by CHIL Interior Design, the hotel offers pillow-top mattresses and in-room mobile device casting, allowing guests to mirror the contents of their mobile screen to the TV. In-room amenities include flat-screen televisions with high-definition cable programming, motion sensor climate control, locally sourced spa-grade toiletries and Keurig coffee makers.
Jeff Leung, who works with the ownership group Pacific Reach and is the new general manager of the hotel, says: “This property will be ideal for business and leisure travellers who appreciate a unique experience in downtown Vancouver. The hotel was designed with the tech savvy travellers in mind and we are implementing amenities that will enhance their visit before, during and after staying with us,”
Part of the Ascend Collection, Hotel Belmont offers VIP rooms, multiple bars including two full-service lounges, personalized services such as luggage assistance, concierge service, and a vintage house car service.
