Any time a country or region imposes any sort of visa stipulation - even if it’s a waiver - the travel industry sighs a collective groan, knowing the obstacles and headaches to come.
PALMA DE MALLORCA — Effective May 2018, one of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts’ leading adults-only properties in the Dominican Republic will transition into a family-friendly resort where kids are welcome.
Luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado, located on the island of Cayo Levantado in Samaná, will begin welcoming young guests next month. This will be the brand’s only luxury Treasure experience hotel, as per its recent portfolio reclassification, that welcomes younger guests.
“This wonderful one-hotel island offers two private beaches, perfect for families to enjoy. The strategic decision to remove the adults-only restriction helps us to truly round out our expansive offering in Samaná,” said Helen Montijano, vice president of sales and marketing, U.S. and Canada.
Montijano also added that in addition to Cayo Levantado, the brand has three properties on the D.R.’s mainland. These include: Luxury Bahia Principe Samana, an adults-only haven and the brand’s second luxury property in the area; Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa, featuring a variety of off-site activities; and Grand Bahia Principe El Portillo, the brand’s most family-centric property in the region with Family Junior and Family Master suites.
“While each comes complete with its own unique personality, all share our commitment to remarkable service, top-tier amenities and a superior quality experience,” she said.
Guests of all mainland properties also have access to the charming Bahia Principe Village, a one-stop activity area that combines shops with local crafts and nightly entertainment.
