WestJet is the latest carrier to implement Amadeus merchandising solutions

MIAMI — WestJet has become the latest North American carrier to be powered by Amadeus after making its pre-reserved seats – including Plus seats – available in the Amadeus global distribution channel.

The airline has announced that it has implemented Amadeus Airline Ancillary Services, which enables agents to better serve their clients by booking additional services for their flights, all within an automated booking flow.

Amadeus Airline Fare Families has also been implemented for WestJet, making its Econo, Flex and Plus fare options available in the Amadeus System. This will enable the airline to increase branding, differentiation and upsell opportunities by clearly showcasing the full value of each bundled fare. Amadeus-connected agents, in turn, can now propose the fares that best match client preferences.

WestJet is the 24th carrier to be fully implemented on Amadeus Airline Fare Families. Amadeus users can book airline ancillary services for participating carriers right from the Amadeus Selling Platform or Amadeus Selling Platform Connect desktop. This means they can easily compete with airline-direct ancillary service offerings without the need to call the carrier, visit the carrier’s website or direct the client to the carrier.
