Vacation.com says potential for connecting member agents with consumers to be realized via ‘Agent Snapshot’

LAS VEGAS — Vacation.com says it will prominently enhance its public-facing website – vacation.com – to engage consumers, optimize this potentially prolific domain name and bring new growth opportunities for its members.

At the core of this new program is a new online tool, called Agent Snapshot, which enables agents to introduce themselves and their travel experiences to consumers on vacation.com.

The announcement was made at Vacation.com’s 16th International Conference & Trade Show here.

“One of our philosophical cornerstones at Vacation.com – along with Belong and Inspire – is Grow. Our URL has so much untapped potential to fulfill that promise of growth. Now, I’m thrilled to announce, that potential will be fully realized,” said Vacation.com President, John Lovell, CTC. “Unlike competing organizations that require consumers to create an online account, Agent Snapshot will allow us to connect consumers directly to our members, ultimately driving new business, new profits and new growth.”

Through Agent Snapshot, a tool which is accessed from Agent Universe, Vacation.com members are able to convey much more than just their agency’s general specialties and destination expertise. This new innovation provides them with a unique opportunity to personally and electronically introduce themselves, their travel experiences, their skills, their locale and their passions that count for potential clients.  The more differentiation in the agent’s snapshot, the more intelligent a consumer match will be. As more and more sophisticated travellers turn to the web to research their complex vacation plans, they will organically discover and recognize the value of Vacation.com members, thanks to Agent Snapshot.

Vacation.com is providing snapshot tips, best practices, and workshops to agents attending Conference. Later this year, when the consumer facing website is re-designed, agents snapshots matched to online consumers will need to meet quick response times as it’s an electronic forum and the consumer expectation is immediate.

In addition to those consumers who organically visit vacation.com based on the perception of what the site could offer, Vacation.com plans to target additional consumers through search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO) and geo-targeting. Vacation.com will also use its retargeting capabilities to continue promoting vacation.com as consumers search the web.

“If even a fraction of our tens of thousands of Vacation.com travel agents create and publish their Agent Snapshot for our consumer site, we’ll have enormous fire power in realizing the initial vision for vacation.com,” added Lovell. “More importantly, Agent Snapshot will ensure that consumers can find the optimal Vacation.com member travel agent who meets their specific needs.”

Vacation.com members can learn more about Agent Snapshot by visiting agentuniverse.com. Agencies interested in becoming a Vacation.com member to take advantage of the benefits Vacation.com offers can go to joinvacation.com.
