TravelBrands’ new FTC tool “has made an impact on the wait times”

TORONTO — TravelBrands wants to make it as easy as possible for its travel agent partners to get updated invoicing for PNRs with cancelled flights in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Using a new tool available at TravelBrands’ Access agent portal, agents can accept or waive the future travel credit (FTC) offered by airlines for cancelled air tickets.

“The tool has been a great asset. It was designed by our EVP of Air, Diane Lattavo and our IT team,” says TravelBrands’ Chief Operating Officer, Nathalie Tanious.

“To date, we are processing over 6,500 files via the tool. It allows travel agents to make the selection of accepting or refusing an FTC online.”

Tanious adds: “It is quick and simple. More importantly, it allows the travel agents to keep track of their files.”

Agents can use the tool for cancelled flights when bookings were made within TravelBrands’ flight booking system.

Clients can take the FTC for their clients, or waive it. And, says Tanious,”if for whatever reason the client needs to change the status of a file from accepting an FTC to refusing it, it is also acceptable.”

The log-in page for TravelBrands Access is https://www.travelbrandsagent.com/Login.aspx.

Says Tanious: “It has made an impact on the phone lines, on the wait times, on the emails considerably since it has created efficiencies and a simple process for the travel agent and for our team.”
