TORONTO — Close to 100 travel advisors came out for a series of ‘Coffee Time Travel Chats’ hosted by Tourism Australia, Jamaica Tourist Board, Globus family of brands, Carnival Cruise Line, and Couples Resorts.

The mini-trade shows took place this month and last month in St Catharines, London and Burlington.

Say the Coffee Time Travel Chats reps: “The changing landscape of the retail sector of our industry prompted the group to offer an option for advisors working from home or the office to learn about various products at once.”

The events were designed to be flexible for busy travel advisors, and offered a drop-in format between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. There were no fixed presentation times, to maximize flexibility, allowing advisors to pop in for a coffee and a chat whenever it’s convenient for them.

Reps say the staggered visits also allowed for the opportunity for in-depth conversations and a relaxed atmosphere.

The series was so successful, the group will be expanding with a new series of shows.

Events are scheduled to take place in Brantford on April 11, Kitchener on April 26, and Woodbridge on May 2. More shows are being planned throughout Ontario and B.C. for the months to come.
