‘Sell Your Way to the USA’ FAM showcases northern Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — Three Canadian travel advisors had the time of their lives on a prize FAM trip to Utah, part of Brand USA’s Sell Your Way to the USA incentive program.

Hosted by the Utah Office of Tourism and its partners, the FAM trip included winners Maria Karagioules with Voyage International in Montreal, Alida Lio with The Travel Agent Next Door in Toronto and Sue Kos with Bee Travel in Edmonton.

“Like many U.S. states, Canada is the top international market for Utah,” says Tera Atwood, Global Markets Manager, Utah Office of Tourism. “We were one of the only states that stayed invested in Canada during the pandemic, and we are absolutely staying committed to the market now with our participation in Sell Your Way to the USA as just one example.”

Known for its ‘Mighty 5’ national parks in the south and ‘The Greatest Snow on Earth’ in the north, Utah showcases ‘Life Elevated’ to visitors from Canada and around the world.

The FAM showcased three of northern Utah’s premier destinations: Salt Lake City, Logan and the Heber Valley.

Soon after touching down in Utah at what has been branded the New SLC Airport, the three travel advisors took off for an elevated experience: a scenic flightseeing tour of the Great Salt Lake with Absolute Flight. Driving tours of Salt Lake City with Southwest Adventure Tours and Little Cottonwood Canyon Scenic Byway rounded out the group’s exploration. Atwood notes that a two-night stay in Salt Lake City is a must for every itinerary.

Next, the FAM headed north to Logan and visited the American West Heritage Center and then hit the forested trails for a RZR ride at Beaver Creek Lodge. Transferring to the Heber Valley, half way between Park City and Sundance Mountain Resort, the participants soared once again with ZipLine Utah, followed by a soak in the hot springs at Homestead Crater.

A dirty soda (i.e. a soda float, one of Utah’s most popular claims to fame) provided an energy boost, plus the group got to enjoy Salt Lake City’s burgeoning urban dining scene (often nominated for James Beard Awards). Northern Utah’s agri-tourism offerings in Logan’s Cache Valley and a farm tour at Heber Valley Milk & Artisan Cheese also provided a taste of life in Utah.
