G in 3: “Love is in the air, and so are our travellers!” says G Adventures’ David Green

It’s February … love is in the air, and so are our travellers!

There’s nothing we love more than changing people’s lives, and seeing so many of your customers flying abroad to sunny and exciting climes, as well as booking their future trips, brings me so much joy.

January was an incredible month for bookings for us – and for you – so thank you in advance for all the lives you’ll be changing over the coming year and beyond.

You may or may not know that ‘We Love Changing People’s Lives’ is one of our core values here at G Adventures. That doesn’t stop with our travellers – it extends to our entire community, which includes the people in the destinations we travel to, our own team here at G Adventures, our suppliers in more than 100 countries around the world, and of course, you, our valued travel agency partners.

For me personally, my life has been changed by G Adventures, as I actually started my journey as a G Adventures traveller. I loved the experience so much I then took pride in selling G Adventures as a travel agent and that led me to moving to Toronto to work for G Adventures. It was one of the best, most life-changing decisions I have ever made.

As a travel agent, what are those aspects that you LOVE about your job? Is it when your clients talk about how much they LOVE you and the service and experience you delivered? What are the things that made them feel that way?

It’s most likely to do with trust and you being an expert, but it could also be about creating dream adventures and offering bucket list experiences that they hadn’t even considered.

As a travel agent, we have your back and consistently look at how we can support you as much as we can. We’re always aiming to change your life for the better, too.

Last week, we announced the launch of our annual Change Makers campaign as part of the GX Summit and I urge you all to join the fun. Last September, we changed the lives of more than 80 travel agents from around the world in Peru, showing them firsthand what a difference community tourism can make for everyone involved in the process; from the booking of the trip through to the delivery of the experience.

The part I love most is seeing our community tourism projects – built in partnership with our non-profit partner, Planeterra – on the ground and meeting the people whose lives have been changed for the better as a result of tourism.

You’ll have to stay tuned to find out where Change Makers will be held this year – last year our agents joined media, suppliers and G Adventures’ squad members in the Sacred Valley, Peru, where they were also treated to a ‘Gold’ themed party in an Incan temple, followed by an after party with a performance by Village People. What do you think we can come up with this year?!
