TORONTO — In a major nod to its Canadian roots, G Adventures has unveiled its most significant domestic expansion to date, adding nine new trips across six provinces.
Timed just ahead of Canada Day, the announcement showcases the tour operator’s growing focus on immersive, community-driven travel experiences within its home country.
The new itineraries span G Adventures’ Classic, Active and Marine travel styles, and explore a wide range of Canadian landscapes – from the towering peaks of the Rockies and the coastal charm of the East Coast to the fjords and forests of Northern Québec. The launch also builds on the company’s recent Arctic Expedition relaunch, offering travellers the chance to journey by sea from Iceland, around Greenland, and into Newfoundland and Labrador aboard the G Expedition.
“We’ve always been incredibly proud of our Canadian roots; it’s a country that has not only welcomed me with open arms but also provided the opportunity to grow an incredible global travel community, committed to changing lives through travel,” said Bruce Poon Tip, founder of G Adventures. “These new trips mark an exciting step forward as we approach our 35th anniversary and pay homage to where we have come from. Our domestic travellers will have the opportunity to explore some of the wonders of their own backyard, while our international travel community will get an insider’s peek into the natural and cultural gems that Canada has to offer.”
According to Poon Tip, the new itineraries were developed in response to strong interest from travellers and travel advisors alike. Noting that the company has had countless requests from travellers and travel advisors alike in recent years for more Canada trips, he added that these new trips are about more than just seeing Canada – they’re about really experiencing the destination.
“Local communities and supporting small businesses are central to the trips, so travellers will stay in small, locally owned accommodations and to learn firsthand about the history and culture of the Indigenous Métis people near Smoky Lake,” he said.
Highlights of the new Canada itineraries include:
- Canadian Rockies: Northern Lights Winter Explorer: This nine-day journey explores the iconic landscapes of Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper, and includes a cultural visit to Alberta’s first and only Métis cultural interpretive centre. Travellers will learn Indigenous traditions, spot local wildlife, and – if conditions allow – witness the northern lights. First departures run from January to March 2026.
- Coastal Treasures of the Canadian Maritimes: From the colourful fishing villages of Nova Scotia to the tidal wonders of New Brunswick and coastal beauty of P.E.I., this trip includes hiking Cape Breton’s Skyline Trail, walking the ocean floor at Hopewell Rocks and visiting the UNESCO-listed town of Lunenburg. First departures are available in June 2026.
- Northern Québec Summer Lodge Escape: Beginning in Montréal, this seven-day itinerary heads into Québec’s wild spaces, with paddling through Saguenay Fjord, village visits, forest chalet stays and a final stop in historic Québec City. First departures are in June 2026.
- Iceland, Greenland, & Labrador Expedition – Europe to Canada: This 16-day marine adventure travels from Iceland to Canada via Greenland’s rugged coastlines. Travellers will explore ice floes by Zodiac, learn from onboard naturalists, spot whales and walk the tundra before arriving in Newfoundland and Labrador. First departures are in June 2026.
