GENEVA — Explora Journeys is expanding its Summer 2027 offerings with immersive pre- and post-journey experiences in Alaska and Western Canada, giving guests the chance to explore these regions in greater depth before or after their ocean voyages aboard EXPLORA III.
Anchored by the brand’s ethos of slow travel and purposeful discovery, the new Destination Immersions range from three to five nights and include deluxe rail travel, curated wildlife and cultural encounters, and exclusive culinary experiences. The experiences are designed to seamlessly integrate with the luxury and sophistication of Explora Journeys’ ocean itineraries.
“These Destination Immersions reflect our commitment to offering immersive luxury travel that extends beyond the ship. They allow our guests to explore in greater depth, with intention and authenticity, and to connect more profoundly with the places they visit,” said Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys. “Whether it’s journeying through the vast wilderness of Alaska or uncovering the cultural richness of the Canadian Rockies, these experiences are designed to complement and elevate the overall Explora Journeys experience – seamlessly blending land and sea into one continuous, meaningful narrative.”
In Alaska, pre- and post-journey experiences from Seward include three- and four-night options visiting Anchorage, Denali, Talkeetna, Fairbanks and Girdwood. Activities feature dome rail travel, scenic motorcoach rides, visits to Denali National Park, wildlife encounters, dog-sledding adventures, Tundra Wilderness Tours and a visit to the Iditarod Headquarters.
For the Canadian Rockies, travellers departing or returning via Vancouver can enjoy five-night luxury rail journeys aboard the Rocky Mountaineer. The westbound pre-journey from Calgary to Vancouver includes stops in Banff and Kamloops, gondola rides over Sulphur Mountain, and fine dining with alpine vistas. The eastbound post-journey mirrors the route, offering in-depth exploration of lakes and waterfalls in Banff before concluding in Calgary.
